The NSW branch of the Institute for Public Administration Australia is strengthening ties with the state’s public service through formal corporate partnerships with agencies.
The Department of Family and Community Services and the Department of Justice have both already signed on as “Platinum Corporate Partners” with IPAA NSW, and more are expected to be announced shortly.
IPAA NSW president Andrew Cappie-Wood and chief executive John Carnegie are in talks with the departmental secretaries about formalising links between the professional body and their respective departments. In an email to members, Carnegie said he was “extremely pleased” that all of the secretaries they have met with have agreed to formalise the relationship. Carnegie reports:
“Other Departments are evaluating their preferred options and I look forward to announcing new Corporate Partners in coming weeks. These relationships allow IPAA NSW to grow and develop as we strive to build the capability, capacity and reputation of the public sector.”
This year’s IPAA National Conference, October 14-15, will be hosted by IPAA NSW in Sydney. Registrations close in two weeks.
