Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018

The reforms would add these sectors to the definition of ‘critical infrastructure’: banking, finance, communications, data, the Cloud, defence industry, education, research, innovation, energy, food, grocery, health, space, transport, and water.

The government is reportedly considering a proposal to enable the Australian Signals Directorate to access the networks of companies operating critical infrastructure to defend them against cyber attacks.
