The new National Bushfire Recovery Agency has launched a website to keep scorched communities up to date on the rebuild process.
The website provides regularly updated information on the national response to helping bushfire affected communities get back on their feet, including details on recovery assistance and offers of help, such as donations and volunteering.
It will also give information on upcoming community visits.
Former Australian Federal Police commissioner Andrew Colvin — who has taken on the role of National Bushfire Recovery Coordinator — said he would begin visiting affected communities to consult with those impacted in the coming weeks.
“It’s critical we get the recovery effort right to ensure communities get the support and services they desperately need,” he said.
“It’s my job to work closely with all the relevant people and experts—at the national, state and local level, to make sure this is a successful, coordinated effort.”

The agency was established in January to connect bushfire affected communities with the services and assistance needed to rebuild and recover.
It will work alongside communities while collaborating with all levels of government, as well as the industry, business and charity sectors.
