Companies that pay their tax onshore are truthful about their emissions and are honest with the public, government and investors, and are likely to outperform those that cut corners and try and sneak out of their obligations.

That’s the hot investment tip from assistant minister for competition, charities and treasury and assistant minister for employment Andrew Leigh, as the Albanese government tries to inspire often grumpy and cynical institutional investors to reward better corporate behaviour as well as solid numbers.
