The report on the next decade for women’s equality in the economy contained specific recommendations for the federal public service.

The final report from the Women’s Economic Equality Taskforce (WEET) had seven broad recommendations, with specific recommendations around APS gender analysis and data.

Those included “appropriately funding” the Office for Women, which lies within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, to drive policy practice across the APS.

“The Office for Women must have the right skills, expertise and leadership, and be appropriately connected with the leadership of the broader APS to perform its functions with impact,” the report stated.
