Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) director Professor Peter Dawkins has called for the pillars of the national skills system to move in a coordinated, joined-up way to deliver the workforce Australia needs in future generations.
“JSA is not there to lead the policy but we’re there to help give the policy energy, and give it information and advice — and to help ensure that this joined-up approach happens,” Dawkins told the National Press Club.
“There’s a huge number of stakeholders involved, such as the state and territory governments — they’re a very critical part of this, so if it’s going to be a holistic, national approach, there needs to be a federal-state compact to make this all happen.
