So spare a thought for Andeas Barckow, the chair of the London-based International Accounting Standards Board.

Barckow and his IASB colleagues travel across the globe multiple times every year to talk to stakeholders in the countries that use its accounting standards for reporting regulation.

He has been in Australia to talk with a range of groups because this country is one of 140 jurisdictions that takes the international product as a basis for its reporting regulation.
