Mental health in the APS is not a problem to be fixed

The woman charged with leading the implementation of a framework designed to help government agencies improve the workplace response to mental health has explained why systems transformation means thinking beyond silver-bullet solutions. 

Sam Junor, from the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC), said a ‘whole-of-APS’ approach was being taken to lift mental health capability across agencies, with a new framework. Using an evidence-informed and systems-based approach, the aim of the resource is to build mental health capability as a matter of continuous improvement.
