LaunchVic is a young state agency established five years ago with a view to invigorating Victoria’s ecosystem of start-ups and entrepreneurs. The Mandarin speaks with one of the agency’s top leaders about how the right conditions are being cultivated for government and entrepreneurs to solve some of the state’s most pressing problems from the sandbox.

CivVic is one of the agency’s newest accelerator programs, and has been established to create more opportunities for start-ups to collaborate with the Victorian government. This month it was announced that upwards of a million dollars would go towards creating a government liaison service for start-ups to help them navigate procurement processes and develop valuable networks within government.

LaunchVic chief operating officer Georgia McDonald says CivVic was designed to lift the capability and connections of start-ups operating in spaces relevant to strategic state policy.
