While questions swirl around BNPL regulation, Victoria Draudins posits that a more valid question might be what we could learn from BNPL in looking at the rest of the financial services industry.

As I’ve written about previously in Why more data access can provide a new regulatory response, government has a number of regulatory responses ranging the full spectrum from no regulation to self-regulation to enforced standards, or all of the above at different times. However, just because there’s more regulation in place does not mean that consumers will be protected.
