If the SES is your goal, here’s some advice

Joining the ranks of the Senior Executive Service in the APS (or comparable levels in state and territory public services) is an ambition of many people working in the public sector. Getting there, however, might seem an extraordinarily difficult task.

With that in mind, The Mandarin gathered together some experts who all agreed to share some of their knowledge and experience on how to secure that elusive job.

We asked a recruiter and two executive coaches – all with extensive experience helping qualified people secure SES positions – to pass on tips and advice for reaching those senior levels of the public sector.
