Miriam Vogel delivered implicit bias training for Obama. Now she guides AI developers: ‘Many more lives are impacted by the bias of that black box’

Miriam Vogel developed and led implicit bias training for federal law enforcement while at the United States Department of Justice.

She worked at the White House in both the Obama and Clinton administrations, most recently serving as associate deputy attorney general. Prior to that she led the president’s equal pay task force to promote equal pay for women.

Vogel is now executive director at EqualAI, which aims to identify and prevent gender bias and encourage diversity in the development of artificial intelligence.
