The Department of Social Services has several Senior Executive Service (SES) Band 1 opportunities available, including branch manager.

As a branch manager, you will play a significant role in contributing to the overall strategic direction of the department.  Working closely with the group manager, you will lead and manage a branch and determine and be accountable for the Branch’s objectives, priorities and task allocation.  You will represent the department at high-level discussions and negotiations with key stakeholders and outside organisations.

To be a strong contender for these important and challenging roles you will need to be forward thinking, self-motivated, resilient and adept at building relationships in a complex and fast-paced environment. You will be able to contribute to, and communicate, the strategic direction of the department. You will have strong leadership credentials and the ability to engender trust and respect, complemented by sound judgement, a strong focus on results, the ability to solve complex issues and build organisational capability and a commitment to helping create a proactive and productive workplace culture.
